Can any one help me, if i buy a sky+ box from ebay will my ordinary sky card operate it? If not what do i need to do?

I think as long as the phone number and viewing card are both activated and registered to the same account, you should be fine. You won't be able to use the Sky+ services though - if nothing else you probably don't have a dual feed from the dish to the back of the box.

I have moved into a house that has 2 cables coming form the digibox so i guess the previous occupant had sky+.

If i get a sky+ box from ebay wll i still need a second viewing card. If so how can i get 2 cards registered to my account without buying it from sky?

You don't need two viewing cards but you do need a Sky+ box and the £10 a month subscription to Sky+ (waived if you have a premier package, e.g. sports or movies).

I have SKy sports - but can i just buy a sky + box from ebay, set it up and pop in my current viewing card - or will i need to phone sky for them to activate something?

Viewing cards are matched to Sky boxes, you will have to contact Sky to register your new setup, its also possible that you need a new viewing card. Why not ring them and ask?
BTW Sky + features will not work unless you subscribe to the Sky + service.

Eh? You sure? I was a developer for Sky a couple of years back and I'm pretty sure they're not. We used to switch cards around all over the place.

It sounds like you have the right setup. It may work from the off as you have a premium package, although I'd imagine you may need to give them a ring incase they need to enable something at their end.

Hmmmmm...now i'm not sure to go for the ebay box or a new one from sky?
