New to gardening, is it too late to plant stuff?

Not a gardening day today, but think I would like to have a go at growing stuff, but where to start?

I have a garden and room for pots rather than beds of veg.

Is it cheaper and do O need a greenhouse?

Most veg and fruit, wanted chickens but hubbie said No, his dad kept them and he says they make a mess!

Are herbs worth it? Like to cook

I could write the same answer to every thread on here. In fact most people are screaming at the pc now begging me to do just that, or even better, not write anything at all.

Herbs of course are worth it! But only grow the ones you use more than twice a year.
You can't keep chickens in containers anyway, so it's good your OH said no. That's what I like, a husband with an ability to say no, if more were like that we wouldn't be in the mess we are in today.

Ok, so you like most fruit and veg, that's good , but you only have containers, that's bad* you can grow almost anything you want to grow as long as you water them enough and give them big enough pots and good soil to grow in.
So make your choice...... will it be carrots, or an apple tree...... or potatoes, or peas, or what?
