How do I Burn IMG image onto DVD ?

Could anyone help please, I have a file *.IMG format and want to burn it onto DVD, I've tried using Nero but no joy, can anyone help please, what should I use or do I need to convert it before burning ?

I'm sure I did this with nero before by selecting burn image to disc but if I recall the file wasn't there and I had to change "files of type" to "all files" in the navigation window that pops up.sorry if I'm wrong but the filetype rings a bell might have been another type I was working with though.

DVD Decrypter is good at burning iso files if you can get it

Either rename the file to iso, and then nero will burn it, or alternatively download
Alcohol 120, this burns img files, free trial version here

i CHANGED THE TYPE TO ISO AND BURNT IT WITH DVD DECRIPTER WORKED FINE
