ryanair question - only want one of the flights

Hi, I have booked to fly from dublin to edinburgh, but it would only let me pay in euros - my electron card doesnt seem able to cope with that. So, i found a flight from edinburgh to dublin return which was in pounds so i booed that.
I only want to go on the return journey, have selected online checkin -so, is it ok to just complete the checkin for the return and ignore the outgoing flight?
Reason i was wondering is that i thought if they dont see me flying out, they might cancel my return journey?
btw, i am blonde if this seems like a dumb question!
thanks for advice

If you booked with Ryanair then strictly speaking you booked 2 single flights and not taking one should have no effect on the other.
If however you booked with a return journey with say BA then they may cancel the return portion if you do not travel on the outbound flight.
Either way it is perfectly legal and acceptable what you have done. The simplest way to ensure all goes to plan and to quell any potential worries is to simply inform the airline prior to travel.0 -
I had exactly the same issue when I wanted to fly from Prague to UK. I just checked in for the return flight and didn't bother checking in for the outbound. I had no problems at all.0

I'm hoping to book a flight from spain to england (one way) very soon and was banking on using my Halifax Electron card. Could I ask what sort of problems you encountered as if I can't use it I'll have to use a normal debit card and pay fees. thanks for any advice0

I've used my Halifax card many times to buy Ryanair flights in other currencies. For some reason Ryanair doesn't do the Dynamic Currency Conversion that used to happen when I paid with my Nationwide debit card (so you get charged £1.50 by Halifax for a foreign currency transaction), but I've never had any problems with acceptance. I'd be interested to know what kind of card the OP was using.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks

thanks for that Benjus - I think I can swallow the £1.50 charge0

I was using the entropay 'virtual' electron card which I think only works in sterling (if you have the sterling card). I just found a 1p outward flight to save on having to use a 'proper' card.0
