Hi, I lost my old credit card of my bank in the UK. (created it when I was an international student in the UK) and my bank refused to issue me a new one. I wanted a pound credit card to be associated with my bank account in the UK. Can anyone tell me about a card that welcomes foreigners not living in the UK and easy to approve? I am a student living on scholarship but I do not have any borrowing. Still credit card companies reject my applicaiton. Any help appreicated.

Sorry, I think it would be impossible to find a bank who would issue a credit card in the UK if you tell them you no longer live in the UK. The risks are too obvious... In fact most of them seem to have it as a T+C that you are resident when you apply.
I would try via the country you are resident in now. HSBC and Amex (for a chargecard) might be able to help. Certainly I was able to get a US$ Amex chargecard in the UK.
You could also try some of the "offshore" banks - eg Isle of Man, Jersey etc. They are more used to dealing with people outside of the UK who wish to bank in the UK. I still feel getting a credit card is unlikely - and they are unlikely to come with any of the special deals that onshore banks offer.
Else it's a debit card!
The only other way would be to "rebuild" your presence in the UK...0 -
you can get a top-up credit card from here.
There is no way in this current economic climate that banks will lend to someone that they cannot properly credit-check,and who may leave the county at any time
But if you need a credit card...this could be an option.:beer:It's nice to be nice .....
You HAVE checked google before asking, haven't you?;)

Is it because you have a balance in your UK bank account you wish to spend, as I cannot think of any other reason? If this is the case, why do you not transfer the money to wherever you are now?RIP independent MSE.
