Beware this company think they are above complaints regarding dealing with debit card payments.
I took my kids to see Fast and Furious and made 2 debit card payments around the 15th April. On the 12th of May they came off my bank account. When I queried this with the bank they have said that we are not the only ones they have done this too.
They have now left me with £120 in bank charges, my account went £19 over my overdraft limit but I had assumed these payments were off my account.
I have telephoned the Vue and they are basically not interested as they have 6 months to debit my account. They claim that they had a problem with the payments processing but are not willing to sort for customers that are now well out of pocket

I think they have 180 days to take the money. Asda did this too one year, altohugh there was a MASSIVE time lag (I think it was about 9 months and they took the money near christmas).
I'm sure someone will post to confirm their time limit to take the debit payments. If you aim for the moon if you miss at least you will land among the stars!0 -

£120 in charges for going £19 over?? seems a bit much!!
I can't see you getting anywhere with Vue, you bought the tickets and got what you paid for. It can be argued it isn't thier job to monitor your bank account.0 -

£30 for each transaction paid and then £30 for each time you went more overdrawn?
Could you claim these back from the bank as a goodwill payment? if you've never claimed before the bank might be nice
otherwise I agree with CHR15, although they weren't convenient in taking the money late, they were within their rights to do so and so sadly it was your fault not theirs.
I'm shocked their customer service wasn't very good, I've had good customer service from them before.... I managed to throw pop corn over the people infront of meThe Vue in Oxford were lovely and gave us all more for free- inc. the people who had the popcorn over them!

mmmmm.... little sympathy from me I'm afraid on this except for the excessive bank charges.
[STRIKE]Better[/STRIKE] Budgetting would've prevented this.
Your choice of nickname is misguided, remove thevue and replace with your bank's name (though that nickname has probably been taken already!)0 -

Your problem you have to take responsibility for checking your statement
To assume - makes an !!! out of you "Very funny, Scotty. Now beam down my clothes."
All truth goes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Then, it is violently opposed. Finally, it is accepted as self-evident.0 -
If you were that close to your overdraft limit, why were you not monitoring your account closely?
I'm afraid this is your fault, not The Vue, as bought a service and were charged for it. You can't possibly have expected cinema tickets for free?
Have a word with your bank over the steep charges though.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0
