Swapping from Swalec to E-on?

Hello there
I'm just looking to save some more cash (aren't we all?) and was wondering how my current supplier, SWALEC, would compare against E.on? It's also tempting to go to e.on since I'm able to collect Tesco points from them I believe?

Help!

Sara

Yes, you do get lots of Tesco points from Eon. (with a direct debit of over £150 a month, it's a NICE lot of Tesco points)

Have you looked at the "Utilities" tab, at the top of this page? There is a good article there which tells you about comparison sites. You need to know roughly how much you are paying at the moment and the site will tell you if anyone will do it for less. Eon may or may not be your best option.

Or if you have already done this, and they were....I can only say that they have been very good with us, down in Sussex. I have phoned them several times and had good responses - eg tariff capped last year when it was shooting up, and more recently, they reduced our direct debit by quite a bit as they had rather a lot of our money in credit.
I would rather deal with a company which has humans on the end of the phone line than have to jump through hoops to get a slightly better deal - if there is one - from an unknown one.
I know lots of people don't rate Eon, but that's been my experience.

Thanks. That's been a big help. I'll go an dig out my last utility bill and then investigate further! The points is an attraction, I must admit (am on a mission at the moment - trying to collect enough for a family in 2010) but I'd better not get to eager just yet. ;)

Enough Tesco points for a Family? I didn't know they did a discount on those yet!

(or have I misunderstood you?)

Good luck with the moneysaving. My first go of it was the house insurance.....that was brilliant as once I had a quote from the comparison site, I rang my insurers and instantly halved what we were paying, with even some backdating. I wished I had done it before!

    Hi Sara

Just to confirm most of our residential products earn Tesco Clubcard points. :j

Residential customers who registered their Clubcard with us after 1 March 2009 receive one point for every £2 spent on energy.

However, this alone may not make us the best option for you. As aloiseb says, have a look at the comparison sites to see how we measure up.

    Hope this helps. :)
