I'm running XP SP3 and all of a sudden its starting hanging when I try to shut down or log off.
I know its not enough info to go on, but can someone tell me what you need to know to help me please. Please note : I'm not a techie in this sense so simple terms would be very much appreciated
Oh and if anyone knows how to uninstall iplayer Download Manager which apparently is still installed but I can't remove using the Add/Remove Programmes section, I'd appreciate it as well
Thank you

you mean it just sits there for ages tryig to shut down?
Yep thats sp3 or some of the later updates - takes ages to shut down - no fix I could find - using Windows wasta at the moment (that too had similar issue but resolved it self with some updates).0 -
To remove your iPlayer downlaod manager try using
Cleanse Uninstaller Pro
You can use the 30 day trial period to try it.
Hope that helps.0 -
Thanks Banacek for that programme, installed it and found loads of stuff which is "broken" and some programmes which I thought had been uninstalled, like audacity

Just waiting on my ex now to get in touch with me tonight and tell me what programmes he had installed for work and which programmes are add ons which he's installed which I actually use. He did all the computer stuff (he's an ICT technician) so I'm only just learning to do this myself, can't keep running to him every time I have a computer problem
