She is trying to get us to book the £100 per night hotel near the venue:eek: but i have found a travelodge in Baldock hinxworth SG7 5EX for £45 but she is trying to say it will cost so much in taxi fares it won't make any difference.
Before i start ringing round i was hoping someone here could help!!!:D

Here http://www.4hotels.co.uk/uk/royston.html isa bunch of Rosyston Hotels/B & B 's starting from £60 a double, chealer than £100 and maybe within walking distance of your venue ?"Man invented language to satisfy his deep need to complain."

Google says it's 10 miles from Royston to the Travelodge, and I'd suggest that £50 is way more than a taxi would cost for 10 miles. That said, I'm up north and things are generally cheaper here. Also consider though that the hotel she's found you may well offer breakfast included in the price, which is worth something, as is being nearer the action, but obviously it depends how much you want to save money.0

Please phone a local taxi company to be sure, no matter what alternatives you come up with.
We were caught out last year by exactly the situation your sister describes. Although our hotel was only a few miles from the wedding venue, we had failed to take into account:
1. Extra charge for pick-up after midnight
2. Extra charge for coming out to pick us up outside the taxi company's local area (and this was the most local taxi firm!) - a good possibility if the venue is in a remote country hotel
In my case I really wish we'd paid what turned out to be the same amount of money to stay in the lovely wedding hotel, instead of messing around getting back to our so-so "cheap" hotel. And we'd have avoided me being in a foul mood that I'd missed the opportunity to stay somewhere so nice!0 -
Just out of interest, why is this in the 'overseas holidays' section? Is it a subtle reference to Jade's East Angular (sic)?0
