DVI to HDMI

Can anyone please help, I would like to know if it is possible to adapt the DVI out on the back of my computer, to convert it to HDMI, to connect to an HD ready tv set. I have seen adapters advertised, but am not very technical.

Yes. A simple lead with a DVI at one end and a HDMI connector at the other will work. BUT ~ you wont be able to hear sound through it, only pictures will work.

yeah but for £222 id rather connect my pc soundcard 3.5mm jack into a decent set of speakers with an amp. Available everywhere from £20

If you already have an HDMI cable you could use an adapter such as this http://www.necables.co.uk/nec/index.php?target=products&product_id=30335 if you don't, you can use a cable like this http://www.necables.co.uk/nec/index.php?target=products&product_id=29890 although as has previously been pointed out these won't carry an audio signal.
