Looking for economical motorway tyres!

Hiya,
My front tyres are about on the verge of needing replacing. However, the last time I got them replaced was only about 9 months ago when I just went to the local garage and asked to fit the cheapest decent tyres.
I'm hoping to be a bit more sensible this time and look up some advice as I'm admittedly quite clueless on this!
Does anybody have any advice on which tyres would be the most economical for me for initial purchase cost, fuel economy and how long the tyres will last?
My tyres are 185/65/15, H. They are used for about 95% motorway driving, around 20-25k miles a year in my 2L turbodiesel Primera.
Thanks in advance!

If you go to http://www.mytyres.co.uk you can search for your required size & you'll get LOADS different makes oddered.
Some will have a pretty detailed report/opinion of the usability of the tyres.
You'll have prices too - then get your local tyre shop to price beat!!
Usually Michelin show up as good for higher mileage use.

Yep definately Michelin Energys or Continental EcoContact...both great for economy & high mileage :jNew car (not even 2months old) up for sale:-
Ford Focus Sport 1.8TDCi 5dr '06' plate
Sea Grey
2600miles
P.M for more details0 -
thanks for that,
Mytyres have the continentals for £49 and the michelins for £57. I think I'll go with the continentals this time! Although I'm slightly worried about on their partner site tyretest that they say the contis are dangerous in wet conditions.
Although even if they save me 5% on fuel consumption, thats £100 over a year - paid for themselves really.DONE: Great North Run 09! Raised £452 for the National Autistic Society

In the Auto Express tyre test the Vredstein Hi-Trac came first(also a 'WHICH' best buy) and the Maloya Futura Primato tyres came second.

Maloya Futura Primato
MyTyres have them for £37.20/£35.10 each, you'll need to get them fitted(about £10 each).
