AutoAid

Hi all you moneysaving motorists !

Has anyone any feedback to offer on AutoAid.

We're just considering AutoAid Breakdown Recovery Insurance and have received written details from Boncaster about the service they provide. The following is included in their bumph

"How to apply:
To apply for AutoAid by Credit Card or Debit Card just call us on 01277 235500. Alternatively you can send us a cheque along with your name, address, contact telephone number and name of spouse (if applicable). Unfortunately, due to demand we are unable to send out application forms."

Call me old fashioned but I like to have a written record of my application, and the lack of this option is rather putting me off. Otherwise they sound like a great deal. It isn't too cheap a deal is it ?

Regards

£57K of my house still belongs to the bank, on target to clear 2015 but I'm hoping to get there much sooner.

Looking forward to celebrating

Congratulations to thefunkygibbons on becoming mortgage free and thanks for the inspiration along the way :T

AutoAid are recommended by Martin and are fairly well-established.

I joined them earlier this year but, luckily, haven't had to use their service as yet. When I wanted to join, I phoned the number and asked me to send out some info through the post first which they did. I later phoned up and paid by credit card.

You receive what is effectively an insurance policy through the post fairly quickly afterwards and details of how to submit a claim.

Thanks for a prompt reply, and a helpful one.

I'll be happy to apply on the basis of what you've said. However I'll still be interested to hear about anyone who's had to claim and what sort of service they received.

    Cheers

    There's a positive report here: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=85667&highlight=auto

I think it was this thread that made me decide to go for AutoAid myself, rather than the more established (and more expensive) companies.

Thanks for that link jo_b. I must have missed it in my search using AutoAid as one word. Things are looking more reassuring with each post, thanks to all concerned.

I joined last year. One callout so far to a flat battery - attended within 25 minutes and there was no need to make payment due to an arrangement the firm had with AutoAid.
So far it's a better service than the AA at a quarter of the price!
    Can I help?
