Bank of Scotland Account - court papers received

My husband had a bnak account with Bank of Scotland. Further down the line they decided to run parallel an account for bill payments. An overdraft accrued. Never heard a word. Next thing Cabot write saying they have bought the debt. I did send a SAR but foolishly forget to send it recorded delivery. Now they have sent court papers.

I would like to know if anyone could advise me what to write with regards to stalling this with a defence while they come up with the paperwork as proof.

Also as it was a bank account (hubby cannot remember signing another form for this particular account), do BOS still have to proivde an agreement or signed form as proof of the debt?

Any advice appreciated.
