Saving a lump sum ??

READER
Hi all, i have just been to my local HSBC where i have two regular accounts.
One of the accounts over time has built up to a fair amount and the bank had advised me to change account types.
This money will just sit for a while but i could not say how long so i cant really get it tied into anywhere. But would obviously like some return on the interest.
Can anyone suggest a decent account i could put this lump some?
Id rather get advice before letting HSBC talk me into something.
I really have no clue on banking so any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

You should look at the savings thread which might be able to hep but there are a lot a variables mainly around how long you can put money away for and you need to have an idea of this before you invest. Anything that offers instant access even web savers are very low interest indeed.0

Hey guys,

Is there any specific accounts someone could sudgest?

Well if you don't want to tie up your money and you don't know when you need access then the best you're going to get is an instant access savings account.
