Cahoot / Abbey Claiming

I took out a loan with Cahoot back in 2002 who I believe are now part of the abbey group. I have sent the first letter stating that I was mi-sold the policy "having recently looked at the paperwork for my loan I now realise that I have been paying for insurance that I did not know I had taken out so could not have been explained to me"

They have since responded with a questionnaire including 14 questions, asking about previous jobs, income expenditure, details of the interview when I took the policy out 7 years ago. I cannot recall half of this information!

Is this a stalling process or do I need to fill in the questionnaire? Alternatively, can I just send a second letter?

Has anybody claimed from Cahoot/Abbey - can anybody offer me any advice as to where I go next?

Thanks

Hi there and in my opinion and possibly many others yes its a stalling tactic, not everyone completes these questionaires but send them back with a cover letter and state "if you require any information, please refer to your data you have on me when you sold me this policy".

However, the 8 weeks is the timescale they have and they must keep to it.;)

So if you want to fill this in, its entirely your choice, but if not do that as I mentioned above, afterall they sold you this and should hold the details on their microfiche.

If they have your account number on that questionaire or the letter that came back with it, then there we go, they must still have your personal details.
    Good luck.;)

    With pleasure.;)
    Good luck with this.

I was thinking though, I am wondering if due to the fact that its gone 6 years where they may require the info, especially if the loan is settled.
If still active they should still hold the details.
