User accounts in Windows XP

I've got Windows XP Home Edition and would like some advice on how to set up different users.

I've set a password for my Administrator account, as advised in the Microsoft booklet that came with the PC. With Home Edition, it's only possible to log in to this account in Safe Mode.

When in normal mode, one account must have administrator priviledges. So from what I understand, there must be at least two administrator accounts; the one you can only access through Safe Mode and another one.

So is it just as important to password protect both of them? I've read where it's best not use an administrator account for day-to-day use. So does this mean that there really needs to be at two administrator accounts (with the rest being set as 'Limited' accounts)?

Also, I've setup the desktop, Start Menu, and other personalisations such as perminantly hiding/showing some icons in the system tray in my account. I would like to replicate those settings in other profiles, including the administrator one. Is there a way that I can I do this?

If you download Belarc Adviser, it audits your system and makes recommendations.

Not just about hardware/software, but it also gives you Center for Internet Security (CIS) Benchmark Score at the top of the report.

Clicking this tells you about how your passwords etc are being used and makes recommendations depending on your operating system and other factors.

Thanks for the response. I've found what I'm looking for here and it works! I now have two 'limited' accounts with the settings for the new one copied from the other.
