Faulty camera from Tescos

I have a little digital camera bought in March that has developed a fault (the on/off button sometimes does not work, even with new batteries)
Do I have to sort it out with Kodak or will Tescos give me a refund/giftcard. The receipt says call the electical helpline but that is for advice on sorting out problems. It is very definatly faulty.
I have the box and all the stuff that came with it in immaculate condition.

My attitude would be .... take it back to where you bought it from & get another .... don't let them fob you off with contacting manufacturer ... your contract is with them ...
Something like sales of goods act - not fit for purpose ... do a search on SOGA for more info.

I just called Tescos and they said take it back for refund/exchange. Cant get better than that!0
