Columbus Direct Travel Insurance

Going for our first holiday abroad in years and the first one with our child, we all have pre-existing medical conditions so am a bit cautious ordering the travel insurance as you seem to hear loads of horror stories.
Anyway, thinking of going with Columbus Direct - has anybody out there had any experience of dealing with them for claims etc. Thanks

Columbus Direct may be a good company for PEMC as I believe they load their excesses rather than the premium. However you will need to call them to take out insurance as you can't normally declare PEMC's online.

I don't have medical conditions, but can tell you about claims.
I had my insurance with them when I went to Cuba over christmas and my flight was delayed for 23 hours.
When I got back I called them and explained the situation, they quickly sent me the forms which I returned with the letter from the airline, and got my money in less than a week after.
Extremely good service (even if the lady when I called sounded really really sleepy hehe)

I've just booked my holiday insurance through Columbus - as I always do - and they now have a system for entering Pre existing medical conditions online. My missus has two conditions and it added 50p to the policy!!!

never claimed from them, but any dealings I have had have always been first rate.

Thanks for this . Travelinsurancweb are about £8 cheaper for single trip which is what we are after. You say they are a sister company of columbus - does this mean that the service is just as good. Tried looking for reviews of people who have made claims and can only find columbus mentioned. Probably a daft question, but do you reckon we would be treated the same if insured via travelinsuranceweb ?
