It's a gorgeous dress and I agree with Minxy's suggestions for accessorising BUT it's your wedding day and you wear whatever you want!
I didn't, I got pushed into what my Gran felt was appropriate and 20 odd years later still regret it, never look at my wedding photo's at all. Please don't do that!
If you want to wear a purple dress then wear a purple dress, go try on dresses be they prom dresses, wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses - whatever just try them on, get an idea of the style you love then go to a dressmaker or China and get it made to your specifications including colour!
This is the one day you wear what YOU want to wear!
Good luck, and show us what you finally choose!0 -
As a fellow devotee of the cult of purple , order a purple dress if you want. Long gone are the days when chaste ladies had to marry in white. I've gone for a lavender dress as the style of my dress would not look right in a darker purple. I do think you are right in thinking you havent found THE dress right which is why you haven't settled yet once I'd found my dress, I kept looking at lot's of dresses, just in case but none of them appealed to me. The dress in the op is lovely but like sal-ad daze says would you look back & say i really wanted a purple dress.Booo!!!0

This is one I have in progress. If I recall, didn't you want the Alfred Angelo in purple. Just thought an idea of something in purple would be helpful especially if you haven't seen it already.
personally, I think either, but I do especially love the black. very Audrey hepburn!0 -
gibboelli, I so want to see pics of your outfit! I am getting married inr ed but i was thinking about going goth at a certain point."Don't cry, Don't Raise your Eye

Maybe that is because they do that - and envy you for having the strength of character to have the wedding that YOU want, not the wedding that eveyone else thinks you should have.
Floss x
P.S. I love the purple dress idea & may steal it (but in lavender) for me! BTW

Well I'll be sure to post pics when we finally get married for everyone to be horrified over and leave snotty comments
Some people feel the rain...others just get wet0 -
I love that dress, I would maybe put a wide cream sash round the middle with a bow at the back - Not to everyones taste, but a wrap would annoy me after a while.
I agree with other comments that its rather Audrey hepburn - LOVE it!!
Wear what you want, it is your day, who cares if you look back in yrs to come and cringe, at the time it would be what you would have wanted and you would have had a beautiful day - so who cares.0 -
Wouldn't it be a hoot if you told all the men to wear black and all the ladies to wear white/cream. They'd certainly know who the bride was then!!
Your day, your choice. Have fun choosing whatever you decide.0
