Thanks Frosty. I was referring to points gained by DWP workers, not the provider led ones because I haven't had anything to do with them. To be fair, after I posted that original question I did think that maybe the DWP workers are pressurised by having to meet targets rather than being motivated by chasing points but anyway....

    Thank again Frosty.

To be honest, JCP or DWP staff do have targets and even a point system to work to ie 12 points for a Incapacitated Person, 10 for Lone Parent, 6 for Jobseeker and so on (these points aren't accurate as they change yearly!! - don't quote me) but no or limited points are awared for training courses. The main emphasis is to get customers into work and sustainable work at that. I have to admit, JCP staff work bloody hard but just like any employment some harder than others, but it's a hard job to do and in the main, they do it well. Not because of points etc, but out of pride to do a job well. IMHO, they understand that they are dealing with not just people, but peoples lives! Their influences and advice affect lives and familes. I challenge anyone to give it a go. It's not as easy as others think

    Really?

Um, apparently my message needs to be at least 10 characters.

    Hi

Not really sure what you're saying there, but I did say "don't quote me on that" and that's exactly what you did??!!

:D sorry, I thought you meant don't quote the numeric values of the points :o

What I meant was, I thought the points system had gone once JOT arrived?

Reading this years 'Performance Measures for 2009-10' I noticed that the points were back again, but you are correct, when JOT was introduced, points were dropped. Guess Government took a U turn - now there's a suprise lol

Healy, I think that confusion has arisen because the OP is not familiar with Pathways to Work and has referred to it as a 'course' (which it kind of is really). You, on the other hand, are differentiating between Pathways and subsequent courses that may lead from it. Therefore both the OP and the local people who have advised her are correct - attendance of Pathways is compulsory.

The work work focused interviews are not a course. The OP is not correct and the people who have advised her are not correct, you only have to attend the WFIs and not any courses. Pathways courses are not compulsory.

I do not know why you are twisting the facts and bringing up old posts of mine other than to cause trouble and confusion.

I just dipped into this thread again and wanted to comment on Healy's post because I have noticed some confusion arising before as a result of him (and others) not really understanding what an OP is saying before they jump in and give advice which is often very minimalistic, which in itself can cause further confusion (other posts, other threads).
    Thank again Frosty.

There has not been any confusion from my posts and I have understood what the OP has said. I do not "jump in," I answer the question and give the answer that is required, no confusion has been caused by the length of my replies.

You are the one who has caused confusion on this and other threads by picking at perfectly good answers and asking questions and then saying you already knew the answer. Your unhelpful attitude is not helping any genuine posters or readers of this forum. I think you should go and play your silly games elsewhere.

Oh Healy, there is obviously no point trying to talk with you any further. I'm not playing any games. Goodbye.

The same can be said for you, the difference is I help people on here, you do not. We all know you are playing games because you did not like it when a number of people put you in your place recently, it is all very tiresome.

Lets hope that goodbye is permanent this time.
