Whats the best way to id mark ps3 games?

Sorry title not very good. What it is my sons mate has mistakenly !!!!!! taken my sons copy of a ps3 game and left my son his copy. Sadly his copy has been completed scratched to death by his younger sister so does not play at all. This means I have now got to find £22 for a new copy.

What I want to do is mark my sons name on all his games so that this won't happen again. Just wanted to find out the best way of doing this without causing any damage to the game. Thanks

ok for starters, why cant you tell him to give the game back?

secondly to answer your question, i personally use a scheme in my county called clear water were you are given a uv pen, and i just put my initials on the cd's and stuff i own so if a friend takes it accidentally i can just prove its mine with a uv light, which cost like £2 for a keyring one.

it hasnt ever damaged my games so it will work for you (obviously put the mark on the pictured side and not the data side.

if thats too complicated the just use a marker pen to put a small dot on the pictures or something, nothing too extravagant as he may want to sell it on.

Sadly I can't prove he has my sons game. If you saw the one he left us though it isn't just a small scratch it has been scribbled on with something sharp.

    Clicked thanks instead of reply!

Surely that's proof itself, scratched to pieces whereas your son's disc wasn't?

Ask for it back. And never lend things again to people you can't trust.

Going to ask him for it back over the weekend. I still think he will deny that he has my sons copy. They both have a copy of the game and strangely enough they got mixed up last time he came to play playstation.

Just write your name on the top with a sharpie or other permanent marker.

i would reframe from letting him leave your house again without checking things, just think, he must of known his game was broke, so why would he take it to your house, especially when your son has a copy, why would they need two... seems odd.

I agree with you that he must have know his game was damaged. The reason he brings his games as well is because he also brings his playstation and they then play on teams together. As it happens they didn't play that particular game when he was here last. What a suprise.

ok so how about you do the sneaky on him

let it go and dont metion it, then get your son to make him bring his ps3 again with the game with them and quickly switch it and mark it with his name or intitials so he cant argue its his when it has your sons initials on it as do all of his other games. plus his parents cant argue.

    very deceptive but itll work.:A

only if the scratch cant be felt with your finger nail, the op mentioned how it looks scored with a sharp object so i doubt this will help.

    good try though,
