Gas debt
Hi,
Can anyone help me, I moved house last May and paid my first 2 quarterly bills when the came in.
I then asked if I could set up a standing order with the company. I did this with the amount they suggested.
I have just received my first statement since then and I am nearly £1000 in debt!!
Can this be right??? I'm already paying double what I paid in my old house for the gas and as this is a rented house, can't switch!
Thanks

You need to check how much you have used, how much you have been charged and what you have paid already. If this leaves a balance of £1000, then yes, it's right.
How many kwh have you used since you moved in? Do you have a metric or imperial meter? How much have you paid since you moved in?0 -
You also need to check your previous bills to see if these were bsed on estimated readings or not, if they were you may be playing catch up. If you having been paying by standing order, as opposed to direct debit, you need to make sure all the payments have reached your account.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.
