Well to be posative about it, you have only realy lost the cost of oil and coolant and once the HG is fixed you will have a car that has also had a service :cool:Grrrrr. Maybe I should just look at that £200 as lost money and be done with it.
At the end of the day my main concern is getting it fixed. Think thats enought to be dealing with.

Its not just the head gasget which needs changing check the head for hardness check the flatness of the head and pretrousion of the block otherwise you'll be changing the headgasget again soon0

£600 for a headgasket sounds expensive.
Head gaskit kits are about £75, so the bulk of that cost is labour.
Use a renowned local garage and the hourly charge will be approx £25, not the £75 that dealers charge.0 -
