Vauxhall Corsa - Easytronic feedback?

I had a new one as a courtesy car and thought it was awful. It changes gear like a learner driver. It's like it takes it foot off the accelerator before putting it on the clutch, so you jerk forwards with every change. I've driven many automatics and thought it was one of the worst I've driven. My Peugeot with a faulty gearbox drives better!
I guess I'm saying it's not for me.

all clutchless manuals drive more like a manual than an automatic.
I've had both as my license is only for automatics. true automatics are much much smoother to drive and have forward creep- so no backsliding. with a true automatic you never have to use your handbrake.
with ones like the steptronic, you need to use 'clutch control' when you drive- it means that the timing and amount of pressure you put on the gas will matter to the way the gears change. you will need to use your handbrake at stops and on hills. it takes some getting used to if you have never driven a manual (like me). i sometimes even need to use the override system and notch up a gear if the system isn't kicking in as i'd like.
the 2 mechanisms are totally different. a true automatic is a heavy collection of gear-like metal while a clutchless manual is rubber-bands and chewing gum. if you google it, you can find a site that will show you the difference.
But I could afford to buy a new clutchless manual, because the prices are only a few hundred pounds extra. (I drive a toyota yaris vvt) true automatics are more like thousands more and then usually only available on top spec. models. It means i finally much more choice in what i can drive. But if i win the lottery it'll be back to a full automatic for me.0 -
I've been driving a vauxhall corsa easytronic for a year now and it's fine.
At first it was REALLY weird, because I'm used to fully auto, which drives totally different... It will take a while to get use to, but all it requires is for you to ease off the accelorator for the gear change, then it changes smoothly with no jerking what so ever.
I must admit, I do miss my fully auto micra, but nevermind."I did then, what I knew then. And when I knew better, I did better"0 -
Many thanks all. Will probably see if it's possible to try one out at some point...0

I have driven several and loved them.
Be aware that there are a lot of Smart For Fours coming onto the market with 1.3 6 speed semi auto boxes very very very very cheaply though!'Just because its on the internet don't believe it 100%'. Abraham Lincoln.
