Been port scanned,What does that mean???

Just d/loaded sygate free firewall lastnight and this (below) is what it flagged up about 5 minutes ago as i was d/loading a little motorbike clip off a bike site i am a member off.
Somebody is scanning your computer.
Your computer's TCP ports:
1025, 2745, 5000, and 3140 have been scanned from 81.79.7.59..
Also flagged this up below when i came onto this site

What does it mean and should i be worried????

Now that you have a firewall, no, you should probably not be too worried.
'Hackers' will try to scan the ports of your PC to see if any are open and vulnerable to attack. A hacker may be able to gain access to your PC via an open port. Firewalls are designed to prevent just such an occurence.
The best protection you can have is where your PC/Firewall does not respond in any way to such scans or requests. You can check this out with the 'Shields Up' utilities at grc.com. Although it looks a bit techie at first, the tests are simple enough to run, and should give you some confidence in your firewall.
Both the ip addresses that you quote (the 84.65.11.193... bit) are from the UK - but a decent hacker would falsify their true identity anyway. In fact, the owner of the PC that is scanning your ports may not be aware of their PC doing so - often these actions are the actions of trojans or viruses.
Anyway, you will see LOTS of this kind of activity reported by your firewall. Providing your firewall is doing its job you should not be worried about them.0 -
Just checked out the grc link you gave,man that is one cool site, if not a bit mind boglin to a computer thicko like me ;D
But the port test results came out good,which has put my mind at rest. So just wanna say thanks for the help and info
