Can A Balance Be Transferred To A Diff Name

Wonder if anyone could help Im think I know the answer but just want to check.
Is it poss for me to apply for a CC and get the balance from my OH's card transferred to my new card? We aren't married. I think the answer is no but I'm not sure.
Sorry if this a dumb question.

Hi MonkeyGirl,
You can transfer a balance from anyone else's card to your own, you do not have to be married. You just need to be aware that the debt will then be in your name and you will be responsible for making all repayments.
