Volunteer at school and you might end up with a job! Seriously, though, there are always children who need help and not enough staff to go around. It would give your week structure and if you stay over break you get coffee and conversation thrown in. I volunteered every time we moved and it was a good way of getting to know who my children were friends with and what the school was like. I did get offered a job - or rather, it was suggested that I apply - but sadly, we were off again so I never took it up.

    Good luck.

I go to a local craft group, quite a few who come don't make anything and just enjoy the company and a natter so don't rule those types of groups out as they are a good way of meeting people who are in the same position. I also went back to college, with the course and homework you are filling a day.

Good luck with your job hunting x

I just had to ask, are we related? :rotfl::A And do you have an unhealthy ZIppy obsession as well?

To Crockpot, if the boys room are overloaded with toys, that is a perfect opportunity to keep you busy! If there are some things you don't feel you could sell, put them up on freecycle - you would be surprised how many people would appreciate what your boys have grown out of.

    I am not a SAHM

But what about these for ideas

    1. Take the kids places and invest in them - shared experiences are like gold - dont waste them

    2. Keep a clean house, a freezer stocked with HM food and a tidy garden

    3. Grow stuff - you can plant veges in a bucket filled with compost if needs be

    4. Who needs your help? - get out there and volunteer yourself - people will be glad of your help

    5. Make a list of all the things you have been putting off doing - and get them done!

    6. Get a job - part time with hours to suit your family

make the most of life - or it will pass you by
