HI can anyone help who knows?

We are currently with talk talk (line rental, calls, broadband) and I think we pay around the £22 ish per month mark.

We also pay for sky TV (basic package).

I want to move to the '3 for 3' sky offer - £16.50 for the TV plus the calls and broadband.

Sky tell me that to do this I need to have my line rental back with BT (£12.50 a month).

Phoned BT and they said I would have to pay that 're-connection' fee of £122.50 to have the line rental back.....but tried to pitch 'BT vision' to me and said if I went with them for everything they would waiver the 're-connection fee' posssibly by speaking to manager etc.....

Bottom line is I want to cut costs and get it down to £29.00 ish all in...
(£16.50 to sky, £12.50 line rental to BT, leave talktalk)

Am I trapped????!!!

TIA

  • You're kind of trapped, only provider who is both acceptable to Sky for line rental AND will transfer you back to BT's network is BT retail.
You would need to ask BT Retail for "return to donor" or "reverse migration" which "should" be free but will come with a 12 month line rental contract.
Sky could do this themselves since they now offer line connections but I imagine there are costs involved.
If you do move back to BT for line rental and basic weekend call package you might get away with immediately transferring your calls to Sky without penalty but not too sure.
There seems to be no easy way as yet to escape from full LLU such as Talktalk.

There is no requirement to take 'BT vision' or to 'speak to his manager' see here.

  • I think BT Vision requires BT Broadband & the 2 combined come in at circa £30 per month (after offers), add line rental after that..
