Abbey Zero

I have just applied for the Abbey Zero CC which offers no fees for cash withdrawals and purchases. However, i have noticed you get this 27.9% interest on cash withdrawals even if paid of in full.

I don't get this, so could someone explain please. I will be spending £500 at end of the month in Malta and then paying it off in full by DD. When and how long for am I liable for these interest charges?

It’s reassuring to know that if you ever unexpectedly need cash from an ATM, you’ll pay zero fees for cash withdrawals1[/FONT]

You will pay interest at an annual rate of 27.9% for the period between withdrawing cash and paying the cash balance off.
  • You are best using the card for purchases and not drawing cash out.

I loaded mine and put it in credit before going on hols - I know the CC issuers don't like this , but hoping it was a way around the interest fee.( awaiting statement to confirm it thats happened) So whilst I was charged $2 by the local ATM I am hoping to avoid any other charges ( I do have a NW debit card which charges a reduced visa/MC fee but not their own ATM fee like most other debit cards, also doing this allowed me to see whether the Abbey and NW give same rate - pre NW 6/5/09 change )

    Abbey zero mastercard
    NWide visa credit

Just oout of interest- checked my 2 credit card statements from purchases in USA ( prior to NW changing the new fee)
Nationwide Rate was better than Abbey for same day , so my guess is even though abbey says zero- it includes the small fee that to date NW have covered
