The worlds gone mad.
Vietnamese river cobbler fish sold cheap in Adsa and massive Chinese trawlers catching British cod, etc and selling them in Vietnam.
Where is the sense in that?0 -

See, consumers are ruling the world! Overly packaged food because consumers like what looks pretty and now renaming fish! Although the name I have to say is hilarious - can just imagine my fishmongers face!Happiness is wanting what you have...0 -

Variety, I suspect the vietamese have been eating river cobbler for thousands of years and want a change.
I've had many an argument with "greenies" who have heard that we import 40% of the food we eat, and immediately think that if we run out of oil, so can't import food, we'll starve to death.
The fact is we also export a lot of food, so if we didn't have the fuel to import we wouldn't have the fuel to export. We'd have enough to eat, but not the variety. No bananas and kiwi fruit, but all the apples and pears we can eat.0 -
I would opt for haddock, pollock (one supermarket now calls this Peter:rolleyes:) or cobbler.Comping, Clicking & Saving for Change0

I'm still here as well. You don't get rid of me that easily, I'm afraid.
The VRC, as above, was firm and with no bones. It flaked well, and was delicious in the pie. There were only the usual effects of over-consumption <burp>.
I note not only the environmenal arguments, but also my financial requirements.
I will be buying it again.
Next time, I may just poach it in milk to see what it is like on its own, and serve it with mashed potato and mushy peas, brown bread and low-fat spread - my healthy version of fish & chips. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -
...any side effects yet Stephen?0
