TV/DVD/Sky+/Video set up

Since moving into our new house nearly six months ago, we have never managaed to get the TV etc working properly.
The Sky+ and TV work fine, the DVD works when it wants to and the Video never works!
Can someone confirm the correct route the wires should take - they all accept scart leads and there is an outside aerial.
I would say what the set up is at the minute - but I cant move the TV to get to the wires!

DVD>>TV (scart 1)
VCR>>Sky Box>>TV (Scart2)
Aerial>>Sky Box>>VCR>>TV.
You might have to put the Sky box on standby when using the VCR.That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Thanks Penrhyn - will get DH to try that tonight when he gets in - DD might be able to be fobbed off with DVDs then!!0
