Cheap accomodation in Boulogne?

I am planning a ferry trip over to Boulogne for an anniversary and I'm looking for some cheap accomodation. We were thinking about spending three nights there (will be doing things at a leisurely pace as we have a one year old in tow) but the best price I've found is 49.50 euros per night (a B&B) and so we we might cut down the trip to two nights!
However, it is in a very convenient location (near the port) but I was wondering if any of you thrifty lot know of anything cheaper (we will be taking our car over so it doesn't necessarily need to be central). Even a youth hostel quoted me 42 euro+ per night. Is it me being tight or is that a little steep?
Thanks all.

I stayed in the Hotel Alexandra when I stayed in Boulogne last year. It was quite a nice hotel and the rooms where clean, and for a small extra fee you got breakfast. The Very Right Honourable Lady Tarry of the Alphabetty thread-I just love finding bargains and saving moneyI love to travel as much as I can when I canLife has a way to test you, it's how you deal with this that matters0

The Ibis is right opposite the gates to the old town and there is free parking I think it is about 50 eu per night with optional buffet breakfast The rooms are note huge but fine for a night or two and in a fantsastic position https://www.accorhotels.com0
