Egg card not paying payments although have insurance

A FRIEND OF MINE HAS BEEN PAYING INSURANCE ON A EGG CARD, AND HAS JUST BECOME UNEMPLOYED AND THEY HAVE TOLD HIM THAT THEY WONT MAKE THE PAYMENTS FOR HIM AS THE AMOUNT IS ONLY £500.
DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THIS IS RIGHT, AS MY OTHER CARDS ARE BEING PAID UNDER THE INSURANCE...
THING IS DOES THAT MEAN IF I DONT PAY, THE CHARGES WILL CREEP UP

? Bit confused - who does the card belong to? Are you thinking of paying your friends card off?

CARD BELONGS TO FRIEND, HE HAS PPI. THEIR NOT COVERING HIS PAYMENTS BECAUSE HIS BALANCE IS ONLY £500 ON THE CARD. SHOULD THEY???

ask your friend to read the PPI schedule that came with the policy..... they should do though, they should cover any balance. However they may have a clause.

worth checking the specific policy or ask egg for a reason! Not just that it is under £500 but the specific reason, i.e. under section 4.a) iii it states XXXXX
