£5,500 to spend on a new car...

Well.... after a YEAR of battles, Evans Halshaw have finally agreed to give me my money back. (I've been driving a mouldy, SOAKING wet car - which was bought brand new!!)

Stinky car was a Citroen C1, so I sure don't want one of those again. This also rules out the Toyota and Peugeot equivalents for the obvious reasons. And nothing red either - this nightmare has scarred for me life I tell ya!!

I want something brand new (yes, I know, wasting my money! LOL) and I can stretch to £6,000. I want something dinky... currently looking at a Kia Picanto and a Chevrolet Matiz.

Has anyone got any other ideas?

Had plenty of calls from garages offering to knock prices down, so I'm feeling optimistic :)

Jane

Fiat Panda, they are running an advert to get one for about £4999 at the moment with scrapage. If thats worth £1000 you should be around about the right place.

  • Dont buy a new car, soon as you take from the forecourt you will losse VAT 15% and delivery £500 approx, look at a car that is 6months old, dealers such as Motorpoint or best price car these offer pre registered cars with massive dicounts, better value for money and all makes and models, hope that helps

You can get a panda for about £5595 if you look hard enough, or just click here:- http://www.fiatsupasaver.com/ItemDetail.aspx?mID=3

Gone up over the last 3 months from £5195 but hey that's the scrappage discount clawed back.

Why buy a new car? Look for a 12 month old low mileage example - you'll get far more for your money and if there were any faults from new (like your previous car) they would have been identified / fixed.
