Company Credit Card

Hi All,
I am relatively new to this only a couple of previous threads.

I have a query regarding company issued credit cards. I was issued with a company credit card as I do a lot of travelling for my job. This card is based on your own credit and I settle it in full at the end of every month. My company never pays the card directly.

However, during the time I have had the card I have used it for personal purchases (I obviously dont claim any expenses for these) and I clear the balance regardless of the amount at the end of every month.

I have been doing this each month for a while and never an issue raised but now the card holders are going to return cards if not travelling the same amount (I am in this bracket) but I currently have a balance of 1100 on the card from personal purchases. This will be cleared at the end of the month.

My question is can I be sacked over this use of the card? Is this classed as card abuse even though I clear the full balance every month and dont try to claim fraudulently from the company?

I dont need anyone responding to tell me I've been stupid (I already know that Ive been stupid) or any type of rude response- I am asking a genuine question and would like some useful responses.

Thanks,
MCM

It really all depends on your company policy. What does that say?

I would have thought it would be classed as missus due to a balance on the card that has nothing to do with travel in your case. Try and hold of for a week or so or py the balance of the now if you can

    It states the following:
Employees who frequently travel are eligible for a Corporate American Express card if approved by their line manager. The corporate card is based on the employee’s personal credit and payment of the balance each month is the employee’s responsibility. Finance charges or late payment fees will not be reimbursed.

That is fine. Your employers do not mind, as they clearly state above

"and payment of the balance each month is the employee’s responsibility"

    - that to me means whatever you spend - you repay, not them!

    Don't worry about it. :D
