too many credit cards

I think i have a problem i have an obession with aquiring credit.
i have 6 credit cards and had a spell last month of applying for some and i got accepted for a vanquis card (does anyone know what vanquis are like?) but i have just looked at my capital one and they have increased my limit by £600 so should i cancel the vanquis one, i've been told it will be in the post soon but will this affect my credit rating if i cancel it? also do any companies not like you having too many credit cards can this be seen as a bad thing and can hurt your chances of getting credit in the future or i its more on the upkeep of your account that they care about?

Accounts managed well and not maxed out can help your credit rating.
