My 10 yr old son wants to buy a laptop with his birthday money, will have to be no more than £250, is it poss to get a decent one for this? It will have to be wireless, be able to use internet, play some games and do some homework on. I have looked on the Net but I am severely tech impaired and there are so many to choose from, even some info on what I need to look for would be hugely appreciated.

You can get a basic laptop for this price (probably a refurb or an older model in a supermarket special offer). Any laptop will do all the things on your list except high end gaming-for this you woud need a much more powerful machine with a separate graphics card, this would be way over yout budget. So it really depends which games.
All new laptops are wireless.
For another £50 you would get a better machine that would last him longer and be more futureproof. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Netbook? MSI Wind would be fine for this...Nothing I say represents any past, present or future employer.0
