How do I make up an MP3 CD?

My Mum has just got a new car with an MP3 slot in it and we've tried to make up some MP3 discs so that she's making full use of this rather than just conventional CDs.

How do we do this?! I've tried burning what I think are MP3s but when the disc is complete, there's only about 12 tracks fitted on it and the disc is full.

Any suggestions?
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!

It might be that you are putting mp3 files into the program but it is converting them before writing to the disk. What program are you using btw?

Do not select something like "Create Audio" discs. treat MP3 files as "data". When you have 800MB worth of songs burn as "Standard ISO Data" type.

What application are you using? If you are using iTunes this is very simple indeed...

Yes, sounds like you're using an application that's converting MP3 to Audio. The easiest way is just to use Windows Explorer to copy and paste the MP3 file directly from your hard disc to the CD - no need to use a CD burning application at all.

Actually, there is a need; it's not possible to write to a CD otherwise. The reason you can copy files to CD from within Windows without the aid of additional software is that a burning application is part of the base installation.

Possibly the most pedantic reply ever. :T

^ LOL! Quite and meaningless to the OP. I suppose a true pedant would point out the OP didn't mention the OS... ;)
