Building garden wall fair quote

Hi
my mother is looking to have a wall around her property approx 120 foot 2 foot high,she is having the railings put on top,well she has been quoted for removal of plants and prep and the building of the 2ft wall and pillars to take the railings which are 6 ft each which she is supplying.the total is £3180 i think this is high he quoted £1680 materials the rest labor.what do any of you think?is it expensive we need 2150 bricks which ive priced up for £630 so if i can get them this price he surely can get them cheaper.any help would be appriciatted.

To be honest, i'm not an expert on brickwork prices.
But, you have obviously shopped around to find that price for the bricks where as the builder probably just got the price from his normal supplier.
Plus probably £250 for mortar for the wall.
Plus upto £400 for the concrete in the footings
And skips to remove rubbish ~ £325
After adding that up, his price doesn't look too bad.
This is a great site for roughly estimating quantities and prices.
Use the following estimates to work out the price for yourself:
1 bag of sand/ballast = 1m3 = 0.6 ton = £38
1 bag of cement = 25kg = £4.50
1 6 yard skip = 4.5m3 = £164
