Dog Cage for Tall Dog?

Does anyone know of a manufacturer of dog cages specifically for tall dogs? I took our boy (Dobermann) up to PAH to see what size he would need and for the length and width a 36" by 25" was plenty of room for him (he's not a big dobe icon_lol.gif ) but the height was too low (28")

To get the height we need it looks like will have to get at least a 42", going up to 47" with some models! He looked tiny in the 42" in PAH and with space being a premium in our house I wondered if there is a model out there giving the height he needs but with a smaller square footage.

Thanks icon_biggrin.gif

Try www.croftonline.co.uk They are really excellent crates (and their customer service is excellent too).

As I've said in previous posts, I don't have any connection with them - I'm just a satisfied customer who has used their products for approx 30 years! HTH.

The height and width ratios are calculated so if you get the right height cage, then there is room for the dog to lie down and stretch out. If your dog is tall and therefore needs a taller cage, then surely it must need one correspondingly wide for it to lie down and stretch out comfortably?

  • Well he has the same body length and takes up the same amount of room when sleeping as my much smaller dog - the legs take up a lot less room when lay down! The one that was high enough in PAH he would take up less than half of the floor space

Thanks for the croft link -they do actually do a specific tall one (designed for poodles it seems) so will have to look into that! Although in some of their other ranges even the giant ones wouldn't be high enough for him!
