  • BB cant he move in permently? (I think he is there 80% of his free time isnt he?) Then he can help with half the bills? You could always pay your mortgage seperatly so you arnt tied. Also he could then rent his place out and cover his mortgage. Or is this something you dont want?

he wouldn't sell or rent his house out pap - we've had that discussion.

He is more than happy to buy into my house- but he would leave his half/percentage to his daughter (who he sees around once a year) and we've had that conversation a number of times. I am not helping him fund his guilt trip pay off for his daughter (he is leaving his house to his son but won't leave it between them). It's the same reason he wants to buy somewhere abroad with me, so his half goes to his daughter.

Doesnt he have any sense? Your strugaling yet he is at your house 80% of the time using up your resources. Yet he only pays you £80 a month  Running a house he surely understands it cost's way more than that. He know your situation with income yet he is letting you suffer while sapping you like a leach  Aside from the Daughter thing what the harm of him letting his house out. You both half your bills, his mortgage is payed through the rent he recieves however you both still have your own house. If push come to shove he only has to ask his tennants to leave if it doent work out

To me its a no brainer, especially as he is at your house the majority of the time anyway

Of course it makes sense. Think "parasite" and then run through it all again.

    Makes perfect sense then.

    BB its like this...

Tax code of 253L means you can earn £2,530 per year without paying tax or £210.83 per month.

    Month 1 gross = £972 less £211 = £761 - tax at 20% = £152

Month 2 gross TO DATE = £972 + £670 = £1,642 less tax free allowance to date (2 x £211) so taxable is £1,220. Tax at 20% on £1,220 is £244 take away tax paid to date of £152 and you have tax due in month 2 of £92.

so £670 less £92 is £598 (less pension of 5% and NI) which i can work out for you if you want.

BB pm me your email address I will knock up a simple spreadsheet that will work it out really basically for you month by month - you will just have to add in your gross every month.
