Yeah, that is what I do and it works a treat! My cleaner is an Au-pair in our village and has time off when the kids are at school..so just works for me and 1 more couple for 2 hours a week...
Since we no longer argue. I cook one day and OH the next.
I do all the ironing and food shopping, he does car washing.
I have to say having cleaner is a bless. It's not for everyone... But I find that the best used £14 a week (and that is divided so I pay one week and OH the next). I sacrificed £28 a month which I think is reasonable. I don't have it - I don't miss it.. I cannot explain why I don't miss the money, but I just feel that it's well spent..0 -
Also because I want the cleaner to clean, not actually tidy, that makes us tidy all the clothes from the floors and stuff on Wednesday night (she comes on Thursday) so it never has time to pile up and look uncontrolable... if you know what I mean...0

American FlyLady can be a bit overwhelming but our MSE version is much more doable! Do join us - you don't have to read all the posts or even post but I find the lists really helpMum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0

I would say do things as soon as you get in from work. Once you sit down, you won't want to get up.
Have a manageable weekly routine and agree responsibilities rather than sharing everything.
Get a slow cooker or cook double some nights.
Spend some time having a huge declutter and deciding where everything else should go. If the house is tidy, it looks clean.
If you find you're arguing or getting frustrated with each other then forget it and get a cleaner.0 -
You'll be pushed to beat Penny's record on stars though... she's finished EVERY list EVERY week for the last three months :A
That's very kind of you :A The fact that I can do that, though shows that anyone can. The tidy-gene bypassed both DH and I, though we do like it when the house is neat and tidy :T We've gone from a cluttered (but pretty clean
) home, to one which is a pleasure to live in :j
- If you have children, it's never to soon to get them involved. We have a daily Flybaby run, where we all spend 30mins running around and tidying (under my direction :rotfl: ).
- Little and often is the key - we do a bit every evening, no matter how tired we are, and never let things build up.
- Get rid of clutter - you can't tidy it up, only move it about
