surely the fact that the amount of money in the drawer was wrong is an indicator that the till assistant is making mistakes and needs re-training .... ho hum ...

I find it odd that upon checking 'the till only has a few extra pounds in it' Surely the till should have been correct ? If not doesn't this indicate general poor money handling ? In which case how can they be sure the mistake wasn't theirs ?

Makes you think which other poor customer was also robbed that day ?

sounds bad if the till doesn't add up close at the end of the day. poor management of money.

yep. i work in mcd's and i gave somebody the wrong change last week. he said i owed him another fiver and lo and behold there was exactly a fiver too much in my till. if there had been some other amount of discrepancy the management would have assumed that i was a muppet and would have given the customer the benefit of the doubt because the till should always have the exact amount of money in it, anything else and the till staff are making mistakes.
