I did have Norton 360 running on my laptop but as the subscription was ended and reviewing previous threads on there decided to remove it and have now installed Avira in its place. I have also installed Superantispyware and Malwarebytes as well. Do I need to install anything else with them?
Also, do these programmes automatically run and update or will I need to do this manually?
As you can tell, I am not that computer savvie and am unsure what to do.
Thanks for your help.

Firstly download and run the Norton removal tool (you'd think uninstalling was enough but unfortunately it still leaves some things crap left over):

Avira will run all the time and out of the box is set to automatically download updates. You can check by going opening it, going to Administration, then Scheduler. But ordinarily you'll see a pop up ad appear trying to sell you their premium version but this also is a tell tale sign of it updating.
Malwarebytes only runs when you open it and you're best to update manually.
SuperAntiSpyware again is an on demand scanner meaing it's best to update before scanning with it.
There's nothing else you need really. Just check XP / Vista firewall is turned on and that's it. Good choice of software too!0
