help please

i was trying to watch a film on my laptop on a plane with earphones on but the noise from the plane meant i couldn't hear very well .the volume was up full.does anyone know if there is a solution to this.ie a different kind of earphone.the same happened in the car without the earplugs.the kids wanted to watch a film but couldn't hear for the car noise.thanks for any help

    There are noise cancelling earphones that actively cancel outside noises..

    Then there are noise blocking earphones that fit inside the ear, such as these or these, and are intended to block out external noises. I prefer these types, as the sound quality is often better. They do however, require a sung fit in the ear, though they're usually supplied with several different sizes of earbuds.
