BSOD back again

I am running a dell dimension 2400 pc with xp home, 512 ram, 40 gb hard drive, and AOL broadband (usb )
Whilst on the Internet I am encountering the dreaded BSOD blue screen and the data report refers to a USB issue.
I was advised to buy a mains powered USB HUB and I did this thinking it would solve the problem (my broadband cable is plugged into the back of my pc and not the hub itself )..
Yesterday I again got the BSOD while on the Internet and now I don’t know what to do.
I wonder if anyone has any ideas I could try.
Thanks in advance.

Can you transcribe the top two lines of the BSOD screen, please?

Hi
Why don't you try plugging in your modem into your powered usb hub, it could be that your modem is taking to much power from your motherboard, especially if you have other hardware connected by usb.
Just try it and see if it makes a difference.
Hope this helps0 -
You could always get an ethernet router for £20-40. If the BSODs are related to the usb modem, it may resolve the issue, and give you extra protection with the hardware firewall built in..Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0
