...... thought I was amongst friends (well as near as you can get on an anonymous forum) united in our search for MOC’s and having some fun along the way, I hope I wasn’t completely wrong.

You ought to see some of the posts that are made in reply to me.

This thread has a number of regulars who seem in a gang, pm each other etc, and gang up against anyone who doesn't hold their opinion, and has the nerve to try and post an opposing view.

But don't let it worry you - you can always use the ignore button.

Well as “some people” is clearly me I thought I should respond.
I did think it was more than likely a typo which is why I started my post as such, but as we all know we have a lot of newbies on the forum these last few days and I thought it would be a mistake not to clarify.

I have to say I am quite surprised at what I would I would consider to be a personal attack. In two weeks it will be a year since I have been posting on this thread and I have always tried to be helpful, and thought I was amongst friends (well as near as you can get on an anonymous forum) united in our search for MOC’s and having some fun along the way, I hope I wasn’t completely wrong.
You are our very own IPC:A we love and respect our vey own royalty on this forum
I am sure BlueWKD will agree and not want to cause offence once she realises you feel hurt by her comments

It's not a question of hoping they will scan as they will but when the cashier looks at the date they won't accept the ones that say 6/5/09 no matter how much you try to tell them it is really supposed to say 5/6/09 and that the coupon printed the date in American style. The ones that printed as 6/21/2009 you should be able to use as there isn't a 21st month so cashier should believe you when you explain it printed the American way. Even though I am a Yank (still have my American accent too after 15 years of living in England), I'm sure they won't believe me with the 6/5/09 one! Bummer! Wasted ink, paper and my time!

It is a question of hoping they will scan with me, as I mostly use the self scan at my Tescos. Will be going later, so fingers crossed. I'll let you know how I get on - for any self-scanners out there.

It wasn't a personal attack and sorry you felt that way:eek:. I more than most have had a lot of help from my "friends" in the last couple of weeks and greatly appreciate it.:T I apologise sincerely to anyone I have upset especially you princess coupon cos I do value your contribution and help. Will keep my counsel from now on.

ps I am not and never have been in any gang. Until I am lucky enough to find a coupon I will bow out. Au revoir
Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)

I have just got back from the local newspapers (a very small shop attached to the post office) with my copy of the sun. There I was looking at various coupons in different newspapers and trying to decide should I buy, should I not......and along comes the boss ( who is usually a right GOS (grumpy old sod) - never smiles or says thank you). Still undecided, and realising he was watching me, I quickly blurted out, "Oh i do intend to buy the paper, just seeing which ones have the coupons in" "no problem" came a cheerful reply, "go ahead, in fact why dont you sit yourself down, make yourself comfy, take your time". feeling a bit surprised I did exactly that - suprised he never offered me a cuppa!!!!! Then the unexpected came from him "tomorrows papers have lots of coupons - icecreams, chocolates etc......come at 12.30 tomorrow and get the coupons....."oh, do you mean I dont have to buy the paper" "no, of course you dont, just come before 12.30 because thats when I'll be sending them back" "thank you thats really kind of you...ummm....what about the weekdays" (i said in a joyful tone)..."no problem, come at 5pm as I will be closing at 5.30 and thats when I do the returns, come and get as many coupons as you want coz i'll be sending them all back anyway......" OMG......i was totally bewildered, could not believe what I heard - free coupons for free stuff in t's - cant get any better. Only thing he prob. never realised my mind was far from chocs n icecream nss......

Unfortunately, can't make it tomorrow as have an appointment on other side of town, but guess where I'll be at 12.30 on sat and 5pm on weekdays. thats it - I'm dumping my local borders store and sticking to this little newsagents from now on. Its further away but who will say no to free coupons......

My parents used to own a newsagents and they retired about 6 years ago. I had no knowledge of the world of coupons back then....and often used to think I wish they still had it as it would be v. handy....buy hey...looks like i have found the next best thing.........ooohhhh i'm so delighted!!!!!!

Click on the user name of the poster you want to ignore.

    A small box appears.

    Click on "view public profile"

Now click the ignore button. (On right, just above "contact info")

I took it as it was meant PC:beer: and quite right to clarify for all the newbies( aren't there a of of late?)....and it was my inarticulate way of explaining my success( little to some of you, HUGE to me) that prompted your response....maybe the response you got was posted in haste, sometimes it's hard to judge the tone of things when you haven't been following every single posts...and doesn't it take ages it catch up when you miss a day?

Not 100% success today but well pleased...20% off clothing today, got a sweater down from £15 to £11.68( +VAT off the £12)..the same 3 papers I got yesterday , apples and oranges...and paid £6 instead of £20.56, ...so pleased with it when I got home I had a cuppa and went back and got another sweater ( different style , same price ,but only used £5 of mocs this time) ....can I say I know returning to shop again is frowned upon , but as I wasn't buying food, and therefore not splitting my shopping and only had the 1 item on my 2nd visit , I went to self-scan...I suppose I could have got it tomorrow but I'd hummed and aahhed on my first visit and they might have gone by the morning....
