I know that a lot of people have said how long it takes for a decision to come back for DLA. Just to let you know that i have just renewed mine and it was done in 3 weeks!! I was amazed and relieved.
Thought i would just say this to show that it isn't always a long time.

We put in a new claim early April and they have awarded already - 4 weeks it took. They have worked quite fast, our doctors replied quickly too (faster than I thought she would have done!) although I am well aware that we are in the lucky few with a 4 week turn around.0

We put in DD renewal 3 weeks ago and have had 2 letters saying they are dealing with the claim. The school have done their bit so now just waiting. Its not due until sept 09 but will be glad when we know there decision. I have appealled with the previous 2 renewals and won so hoping this time they get it right.0

Well done. I've just got my renewal forms in this morning and gone into a flatspin of panic. So pleased for you. Did you get a different length award this time ? I got 2 years last time and had hoped for a longer one this time. Considering I've been like this for 22 years now I had hoped for an indefinite award but I cant cope with doing this every 2 years or so0 -
Did you let your doctor know it was time for a renewal? I'm just wondering if preparing them sped them up at all.No longer using this account for new posts from 20130

My award is for 3 years this time, it was 2 last.
I don't know if they contacted my doctor or psychiatrist ( i didn't tell them), they may have just used the information given on the forms i filled in. I did enclose a copy of my care plan and my old care coordinator filled in a part so this might have helped. Not sure.0 -
I have made a new claim early April they received it on the 14th.
2 days ago they phoned for more information.
Just awaiting the outcome now.
Here's hoping.0
