Life insurance surrendered but not to me upate

Really fed up with this!!

Brief recap. Life endowment policy taken out 1994, Dad paid premiums but I am the policy holder. I forgot about policy.....dad died 2004.....step-mum says she gave me policy, (she didn't).
Wrote to CIS who told me policy was surrendered in 2005. I asked who to.....4 weeks later they reinstated the policy apologising for inconvenience.
CIS finance advisor requested surrender value........didn't arrive.
4 weeks later I requested it again........didn't arrive.
2 weeks later I requested it again and they said it was being calculated and I should recieve it within 7 working days.......didn't arrive.
1 week later they said it had been calculated and the value was £*** and I would recieve this in writing within 5 working days......didn't arrive.
2 weeks later i phoned again and was told it was posted on 1st May, (it was now 8th May).
2 days later I phoned and they told me it hasn't been calculated???

What the hell is going on?......I know it's a big !!!! up but that's their fault for surrenderng my policy to someone else. Why are they messing me about and what can I do?.......Should I take legal advise?

    Sarah. Quite surprised. CIS are actually are decent company. But... if you really need to get this working you need to stop picking up that phone!!!! It does not work.

    Write a nice letter stating everything you have described above with alot of disapproval. Try and remember each person's name you spoke to.

    Type it up.

    End with, ' I would like some response within the next 7 days of receipt of letter. Otherwise I will taking this to the next level.'

    Surprisingly...... 48hours you will get to speak to a manager/supervisor who will have this sorted in 7 days. Hmmmm..

    PS. Person who shouts the loudest gets served first!
