I just checked my online statement for my credit card and they have upped the rate from 15.9 to 17.9 without any warning I am so cross:mad:
Luckily it has a 0.00C balance but even so I do use it alot, sometimes leaving money on there for a couple of months sometimes paying it off after a month.
Why would they up it? Surely they have a duty to let me know as well?
I have never missed a payment or anything.

This is happening all over at the moment.
There has been a surge in credit card defaults and the banks are passing that cost back to the customer via APRs.
This probably has nothing to do with you as an individual.
Some on this forum with other banks have reported 10% plus rises in APR.0 -
Phone them up and close the card in protestI have a deep burning indifference0

To maximise profit.
Also with the vast reduction in card/loan protection sales (as well as the reclaim culture), along with bad debt, the money has to be clawed back somewhere.0
